OnboardingOnboarding new employees is crucial to organizational success. New employees who experience an effective onboarding process can increase engagement and reduce turnover immediately. They are also more likely to be successful in their roles, have higher job satisfaction, and be more committed to your organization.

This mini-conference will bring in speakers focusing on different facets of the onboarding process from recruiting to the first performance review. Come learn tips and strategies directly from the experts to create or improve an effective onboarding process in your organization.

What to expect:

  • Speakers focused on different facets of the onboarding process.
  • Networking social hour (5-6pm).

Topics included:

SESSION ONE: The Importance of Pre-Boarding: What Happens Before Day One
When we think about onboarding, we generally jump to day one of employment. But the days before an employee first walks through the doors are just as important. This intentional practice of "pre-boarding" plays an important part in retention and engagement. Learn some top tips and best practices to get an employee ready before they arrive.

SESSION TWO: Orientation and Training Effectiveness
HR orientation and new employee training are both an important part of onboarding. From the first impression to the policies, dress code and paperwork all the way through learning about key products, processes, systems and tools. How can you ensure you are doing all you can to set an employee up for success?

SESSION THREE: Integrating Employees from a Manager Perspective
Too often onboarding is thought of as solely an HR function. But, the truth is employee success is also highly dependent on the role of their manager. The first 90 days are critical to each employee gaining needed experience and skills. Hear from a leader who resides outside of HR to learn about how the manager can ensure clear expectations, shared understanding, and results that will have any employee contributing to the bottom line at an accelerated pace.
