Instructional Design Tools and Processes

Instructional Design (ID) can be daunting. You may spend a lot of time analyzing and gathering information only to learn that the process has substantially changed or the sponsor doesn’t like the final product. You may struggle moving from gathering information to actually designing. You may know that the impact of the course could be evaluated better, but struggle with how to do it well. Conversely, you may manage a team of designers and want to provide fair and complete assessment of their work.

During this session, you will learn how to simplify the ID process for designers, design managers, and sponsors. You will learn some of the helpful design processes and tools that address common struggles. To prepare for the session, consider areas you or your team struggles with design and/or bring tools and processes you find useful as there will be time to learn from each other.

About our Presenter:

Fran Carlson

Fran feels blessed for the opportunity to manage the Instructional Design team supporting the Retail Payments division of U.S. Bank. Fran has been with U.S. Bank for 15 years and has either facilitated or created training the majority of that time. She loves the challenge that design offers, and the ability to change a complex topic into something participants can easily understand. Fran and her husband, Nathan live in Fargo with their two amazing children Maggie (9) and Peter (6). Her favorite hobbies include gardening and singing.
