Service learning experiences combine learning goals with meaningful service opportunities in order to both enhance learning and meet a need in the community.  Essential components of an effective service learning experience include identifying/meeting a need in the community, connecting the experience to learning, and intentional reflection.

Learn how TMI Hospitality partnered with a local non-profit to use a service learning framework in a capstone experience for leadership training, combining a company value of community service with the application of leadership knowledge.  Important aspects of the program include establishing learning outcomes, finding an appropriate experience, facilitating reflection, and assessment of learning.
